Mike Noble, celebrated comic-strip artist on TV21 (Zero X, Fireball XL5, Captain Scarlet and Star Trek) and comic-strip artist Lee Sullivan (Doctor Who, Transformers, Thunderbirds Magazine) have combined forces to produce a jointly signed limited print artwork to coincide with the first Andercon convention held in 2014.
Mike was keen to see what digital art techniques could be used to compliment his own immaculate traditional style, and supplied artwork of the craft shown which Lee then combined with a digital painting he created of the Orion Nebula.
When both artists were satisfied with the results, a giclee print on heavy matt paper was created with a limited print run of 100 prints worldwide.
The print measures approx. 18.5 x 13 inches (48 x 33 cm) with image area of 15.75 x 11 inches (40 x 28.5 cm).
Each print is individually numbered and signed by both artists and will be mailed in a strong cardboard tube.
Zero X is a fictional Earth spacecraft that appeared in two of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's Supermarionation productions, the 1966 film Thunderbirds Are Go and the 1967 television series Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. Although publicity material for the various Supermarionation series, and the TV Century 21 comic, made references to connections between the Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet canons, Zero-X is the only official link between the two series.
